Greetings Holy Angels Families,
I hope this letter finds you well. I know this is a difficult time and as a community we are being asked to take measures to protect ourselves, our friends and families, neighbors, and the community at large from the COVID virus. Although some of the practices may not seem convenient, they are necessary. Facial coverings, sanitizing practices, and physical distancing are a few of the key practices that will also be utilized in schools this coming year.
On June 15th our school community and the school communities of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara counties received a letter from the Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Paul Escala. This letter stated that we will be “in person” in the fall of 2020. This is still the plan and Holy Angels School is moving forward with our planning, utilizing additional resources, and reworking policies, procedures, and schedules. We have created a Health Task Force made up of medical professionals from our community to examine the California State and Archdiocese documents.
While I know we all would love for our students to return to school in the fall, for some of our families, this may not be the best option. For this reason Holy Angels will also be offering remote learning for families who feel that learning at home is best for their child. The virtual classroom will be robust and will utilize additional resources.
As our plans to serve families by way of virtual learning and in person instruction come together, we will keep you informed. Holy Angels will be creative, considerate, and flexible in our approach to the 2020-21 school year.
As stated in previous communications, the COVID-19 pandemic is ever changing. We will “pivot” when necessary to support our community members and create a safer environment.
Let nothing frighten you,
All things pass away.
God never changes.
Patience obtains all things.
He who has God,
finds he lacks nothing.
God alone suffices. Amen
