Describe how the STRUCTURE of the organelle contributes to its FUNCTION. Please address organelles we discussed in class.

1 point will be awarded for each clearly and thoroughly addressed responses. This is extra credit so your best effort should be presented. One sentence is NOT sufficient to thoroughly answer the prompt. A short paragraph should be sufficient. Please include any web sources used.

SAMPLE: The function of Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER) is to produce, process, and transport proteins. It has many nuclear pores or openings to allow proteins to enter the ER for processing. There are flattened sacs known as cisternae where processing occurs. The sacs are narrow to allow the proteins to accumulate in one long strand. ER connects directly to the nuclear envelope to transport finished proteins out of the cell.
