Essentials

Absences:
Please remember to call the school office if your child will not be attending school.
Upon their return, a note explaining their absence is needed.

Classroom Folders:
Your child's folder is used to send home information from the school.

Prayers:
The children will be learning a new prayer each month.
A copy of the prayer is listed on the Monthly Prayers page.

Music Class:
Pre-K attends Music Class with Mr. Soto.

Spanish Class:
PK attends Spanish Class with Mrs. Sepulveda.

Technology Class:
There are IPads available for the students use.

Physical Education:
PK students attend P.E. with Coach Kelly twice a week.
On these 2 days, children must wear their P.E. uniforms.

Field Trips:
To accompany any class on a field trip you must be fingerprinted.
Please check with the Front Office for the necessary information.
If we travel by automobile you must have a copy of your Driver's License and a copy of your current insurance coverage also on file in the office.

Uniforms:
The PK are allowed to wear their P.E. uniform all week, they are the only class that has this option.
Because of the physical nature, your child may come home dirty, messy, and sometimes wet, but always with a smile on their face.
Please note that you may choose to send your child to school in any of the other uniform options, but tennis shoes only for footwear.

School Supplies:
It is important that you send an extra change of clothes (accidents do happen).
Please label your child’s folder, snack bag, lunch bag or box, and any article of clothing--especially their sweatshirts or sweaters!
All supplies become classroom/community property. Roller backpacks are not allowed.

Snacks:
Because of the rise in the number of children with food allergies, special diets, and “picky eaters”, we have YOU pack their morning snack.
Your child will bring his/her snack in a paper lunch bag with their “name & snack” printed clearly on the outside.*
The snack may include a drink and either a fruit or some kind of protein/carbohydrate.
Please limit the snack to something nutritious and healthy (but make it something your child will eat).
Examples of appropriate snacks include cheese and crackers/ graham crackers & yogurt/ a small sandwich, etc.
We are reserving sugary snacks for special occasions.

Please do not bring anything with nuts or food that can cause children to choke.

The boxed snacks and water/juice you provided from the supply list will be used during the day to supplement your child’s snack if forgotten.

*Those children staying for Extended Care need to pack a snack in a labeled lunch bag, and their lunch in a labeled lunch box (unless your child participates in the hot lunch program).

Birthday Parties:
The children are allowed to bring in a small birthday snack near or on their special day. It may consist of one treat (i.e., a cookie, cupcake, or brownie). You may also include ice cream cups or popsicles.
Please deliver treats in the morning and we will disperse at snack time.
Children whose birthdays fall during the summer months can be celebrated in June.

Please check with me to verify the day and time, and if any children have food allergies.

If you are going to have a private birthday party, invitations may only be distributed in school if everyone in the class is invited, or if the party is either an all-girl or an all-boy party.

Volunteer Parents:
All parents who plan to participate in any activity on or off Holy Angel Campus in the presences of children must be Live Scanned Fingerprinted and VIRTUS trained. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Finally...
If you have any questions or concerns about the PK Program or your child’s progress please contact me to openly discuss any issues.
I have an open door policy, and my staff and I are here to work with you to see that your child receives a loving and fun experience. I always welcome the opportunity to discuss the positive things your child has achieved, as well as their areas of needed growth.
