I teach to empower my students; to open up avenues of knowledge; to help my students feel inspired and hopeful.  I believe that every child can learn, regardless of his/her background or skill set. Children should be held up to high standards while receiving the scaffolding and emotional support they need to be successful.  Good teachers take the time to develop and maintain a caring and positive relationship with every child.  They nurture not just the mind, but the spirit as well.
