Holy Angels means so much to me because I grew up in the Speer family memes spirituality and I've worked at a lot of schools as a teacher and I've never felt this sense of community expensive family and genuine love and care for one another Holy Angels offers first-class quality education of rigorous academic curriculum we have technology Spanish art music music teacher we have a lot of leeway to do new and exciting curriculum we have wonderful Quitman we have state-of-the-art technology we have Chromebooks now in every grade from 8th grade all the way down the first grade I believe strongly in making technology transparent it's not the technology that's the key ingredient it's what the technology can get there I do next when you see that life will go off especially like him to come in maybe not knowing their Uncle better knowing the letters but in the end of the year to hear them read my favorite thing and see if my kindergarteners celebrate the mask do they have to do they have to do all that stuff and I'm not up there to correct him they do it to me that's always my favorite time is to see how much they've grown from when they walk in and pre K2 when they leave so there really well prepared for high school or any transitioning school that they go to I think they do a pretty good job preparing the kids here Holy Angels is community it's safe and Holy Angels means to me is family really I went here my dad went here my kids go here and all these kids are my family like another home for me another family really good Community here for parents do you know the kids there's kids that come back from years ago that no this is still their community that you realized it still they're home the place I raised all three of my children and we love the teachers we love the parents to interact with the kid being able to interact with the teacher it's such a loving and welcoming environment that I really haven't felt quite too often at other places when somebody that needs somebody is hurt the whole Community together this community supporting my daughter and myself to some hard times and they have made those Hard Times amazing and I love you know is there where do cows go on Sunday night they have great activities in the teachers are amazing and very nice left because the Sports that are really fun and the academics are leveled out with the sports were all one big family and we all work together characters of all the hard work and participation classes Holy Angels with some nominal school we have a fantastic staff and our kids our number one priority here understand each child individual person an individualized education is a place where you can do yourself apply yourself and get the most from life out of this community and you can be loved and you're going to drive me to go broke if the place where students creative and try new things as much as we are about Catholic Education with truly about a sense of community and a sense of respect and love free agent Olean what is a place where you can be your best you welcome to everyone these are extraordinary times but this is an extraordinary School our school at Holy Angels has been able to accommodate our students so remarkably well during these challenging a Time and that's no surprise to those of you who are familiar with our school because our school has been able to adjust to all sorts of situations every sort of occasion I has just presented A new challenge that we've met and so we are very proud of what we have here whether it's an ordinary times or extraordinary times and we hope that you will meet as well may God bless all of our Holy Angels welcome to Holy Angels School virtual open house my name is Amy direct and I have been the proud principal at Holy Angels School for the past four years I'm also a member of Holy Angels alumni having garage did the 1988 before joining the staff at Holy Angels I was already apparent of to Holy Angels students and a longtime parishioner to his childhood in 1946 and has been a successful Parish minutes offering Catholic Education to our community children of all faith and the past years we've seen our community grow to welcome families from neighboring cities Far East is Laverne and as far west as Glendale today we're excited to provide you with information about our school our staff will be telling you about our community their classrooms and curriculum at our faith focus and more we invite you to ask questions and get to know us we're certain that we have much to offer you and your family before we go our separate ways into our virtual classrooms to get to meet you I'd like to show you how Holy Angels is the dress that covid-19 gemach and its impact on our community it is my pleasure to share the collective work of our Administration staff and State in preparing our school for virtual learning and on-campus instruction during the covid-19 pandemic My Hope Is that you will understand the care concern and creativity we use and finding solutions to current challenges I'm so proud what did we get even more so I'm blessed to serve the parents and staff that work together to keep our children at the center of our Focus Holy Angels School has been responsive to needs of our community during the covid-19 pandemic our staff rolled up their sleeves on March 13th and created a remote learning schedule that was robust our families came over the weekend and pick up the material and Chromebooks allowing students to only miss 2 days of instruction based on the pandemic School continue to work remotely as well as valued Community Traditions like daily morning announcements May crowning the rosary Stations of the Cross in 8th grade Circle and graduation neutral were created as well weekly Zoom concerts talent shows prayer services and masses drive-through holiday events and even scavenger hunt meanwhile behind the scenes that work began the school health task force was formed this group of medical and mental health Nationals who are invested in our community came together to advise Administration under the direction of the Los Angeles Department of Public Health and in collaboration with the Archdiocese Department of Catholic schools adjustments were made in our physical building and our school policies gone are the days of drinking fountains and in their place are hand washing and hydration station signage covers our floors walls and doors directing our community to the best practices during this pandemic sanitizer is an error we have ample PPE to support our staff and students for an extended. Of time plexiglass protect our students and staff at their workstations screening before arrival of staff and students will we have an app for that every staff where has a non-contact thermometer for temperature check throughout the day we have converted our front office space to include a wellness room new grass area has been added to increase play space for students and ensure distance seating for snack and lunch open expanded an altered to assist in distancing we have one touch faucets throughout the building to ensure that students don't need to retouch the faucet after they have Clean Hands teachers have been furnished with oversized monitors document cameras and microphones assistant delivering online instruction for schools to receive the T K through second grade waiver in the County of Los Angeles and were able to offer our families in person learning as well as virtual learning because I partnership with our staff and families collaborative we were able to serve our students in the way their parents felt safest I want to thank you for your time our next session starts at 12:20 please feel free to take a screenshot or picture I'm just slide with the zoom codes for our grade level and Department soon enjoy your day
