Teaching experience - Holy Angels, 29 years
SS. Felicitas & Perpetua, 4 years
Though I have been teaching for almost thirty years at Holy Angels, each new school year is a new experience with a new group of students and personalities.
I enjoy teaching and enjoy the challenges and innovations of technology that add creativity in the classroom.
Overview of Fifth Grade
Fifth grade is a transitional year for our Holy Angels students as they begin to experience a modified departmentalized program where they have different teachers during the school day.
During the school year the fifth graders will participate in many learning activities that focus on our school’s Student Learning Expectations – becoming Catholics of living faith, lifelong learners, accountable citizens, persons of character, confident communicators, purveyors of beauty, and advocates of healthy living.
In religion they will grasp a better understanding of the seven sacraments. Math will focus on whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and problem solving, using the four basic operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. In literature they will read and discuss novels and short stories, and in English they will apply grammar skills to writing pieces. In social studies they will learn about the early colonization of the United States and experience some of the the challenges that the Pilgrims encountered as they crossed the Atlantic Ocean to build a new life in the New World.
