Please bring a rosary to school Monday.  Mrs. Hnatiuk will be teaching you about the Divine Chaplet.

No Gospel Write Up this weekend.  Instead the students will write a brief paragraph explaining the significance of St Patrick.

 

Happy St Patrick's Day!

Lent packets are due.

 

You were each given a Lent Packet.

You are to complete the map on the front..

Read the entire packet.

Complete the activities EXCEPT FOR PAGE 347 and PAGE 219.

You do not need to do the activity on page 347 and 219.  You do not need to do that.

 

There will be no Gospel Write Up.  Instead read and complete this packet.

"The Passion of the Christ" permission slips due.

 

Please return the permission slip with either a "yes" or "no".

Movie will not be shown if one parent objects or if one slip is not returned.

We have been working on Stations of the Cross in class.

Final slides need to be completed by March 3.

We will rehearse on March 6 and 7 th.  

 

We will present to the school on March 9th.

 

We will begin watching "It's a Wonderful Life".

Students will discuss the Christian themes in the movie.

At the end of the unit students will be given an essay format assessment.

This week in class we will be learning about the Liturgical Calendar.

We will be completing a Study Guides as we go along.

 

If all goes as planned there will be a test (based off of the Study Guides) on Friday, December 2.

Working in class, students will create a Google slide presentation about the tradition that they researched.

Students will be presenting to their peers.

In honor of Veteran's Day and the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday please create at least one card or prayer to mail to a deployed solider.

 

DO NOT SIGN your name to the card.  Please use closings like "Proud American" or "7th Grade Student"  or "Holy Angels Student".

 

Your cards can be addressed to something like "American Hero"  "Patriot" "Brave American".

 

Please keep in mind these cards/prayers will be sent to a soldier who is away from their family for Thanksgiving. 

 

Please take time to make your card/prayer neat and colorful.

 

A minimum of one card is required per student for credit.

 

 

Students need to choose a Catholic tradition that they would like to research and do a brief presentation on.

 

Example:  Why do we wear red on Palm Sunday?

                 

Make a Guide to Your Traditions worksheet.

Instead of a Gospel Write Up this weekend please take the time to discuss with your family a tradition that your family has.

Complete the worksheet provided, use the back if necessary.

We will be working on our Dia de los Muertos' altar.

Please feel free to bring in a photo or small token to place on our altar to pay tribute to someone who has passed on. Photos and tokens due by 10/28

Student have Gospel Write Up #6 due October 27.

In correct format, using proper punctuation, students will write a brief write up on a gospel from Mass on October 12, 22 or 23 and submit it in Google Classroom.

Gospel Write Up #4  On Google Classroom

Gospel Write Up #3 using the gospel from Masses on September 23, 24 or 25

We will be starting a unit on the bible.

There will be a "Knowledge Verification" (aka quiz).

 

Below is the study guide we will be completing in class and the Google slide presentation I will be using for our lectures.

 

We have discussed the questions in class, no surprises.

Gospel Write Up #2 is due this is a write up of the gospel from Masses on September 17, 18 or 19.

Please submit them on google classroom.

Gospel Write up #1

 

Instructions are given on syllabus and on my website.

 

Students will have a gospel write up do every week (unless otherwise specified).

This is a brief (minimum 8 sentence) write up about the gospel they heard in mass on Friday , Saturday or Sunday.  If they are unable to attend mass, I have provided a website on my syllabus that will allow them to look up the gospel by date.

 

The write up should tell me who the gospel was from, what the message was, how it applies or can be applied to their life and any other thoughts they have.

 

This will be submitted through Google Classroom.  It wil be do every Thursday.

Students will be working in class on an autobiography.

 

Students will be given additional time to work on their assignment in class on Tuesday, September 13.  Final essays due at the end of class.

 

Please reread your essay carefully before you turn it in!
